SCV supported the development of guidelines for the subacute management of childhood stroke, which was led by the Victorian Subacute Childhood Stroke Advisory Committee.
This guideline is the first of its kind in Australia and provides a treatment framework for the 100-300 Australian children who survive a stroke every year.

The guidelines aim for consistency of care and standardised referral and service delivery pathways to ensure that all Victorian children receive the highest possible quality of care. They provide evidence-based and, where there is currently insufficient evidence, consensus-based recommendations to support rehabilitation post childhood stroke.
Safer Care Victoria endorses these guidelines.
