Ariana has worked in healthcare for over 14 years, starting as a clerk while completing her degree in Social Science (Policy and Research).
After developing a passion for working in healthcare she entered the 2-year Australasian College of Health Service Management (ACHSM) Management Residency Program, where she worked across four health services, while completing a Masters in Health Administration. Last year Ariana became a fellow of ACHSM.
Currently Ariana leads and delivers improvement science and safety science education to people in Northern Health and across the state. Ariana is the innovation lead for Northern Health, managing and running the ‘ideas lab’ that was established in 2018.
Recent highlights
- Running, managing and developing the ideas lab at Northern Health, including the implementation of an ideas management software
- Leading the delivery of Learning Improvement Science at Northern Health (a day one foundational course on process improvement). This course has been running for 4 years.
- Being part of Northern Health's transformational change to become a Highly Reliable Organisation – working with Johns Hopkins in the US
- Lead for the establishment of NH’s Daily Operating System 12 month post evaluation
Why I do what I do
"I have loved innovation and improvement before I even knew there was a name for it. For as long as I can remember I have always loved to watch how systems, people and processes work and interact with each other. My job enables me to get out and meet and learn from interesting people every single day. No two days are alike!"
