Aim    

To improve sexual safety in participating mental health inpatient units by 30 December 2024 by:

  • decreasing the rate of sexual safety incidents per 1,000 bed days by TBA per cent
  • increasing self-reported experience of sexual safety by TBA per cent for consumers, their carers, families, supporters and staff.

Scope        

  • Victorian mental health inpatient units  
  • All ages – adolescent, adult and aged  
  • Forensic mental health inpatient settings  

Out of scope

  • Community bed-based mental health services  
  • General hospital wards  
  • SECU 
  • Mother and baby units

Timeframe    

December 2024 - Stage 1: Pilot over 18 months
