Professional biography
Summary of professional experience
I have over 20 years of clinical experience working across the healthcare continuum.
Since 2014 I have job shared the Manager of Physiotherapy position at Barwon Health. I am professionally responsible for over 100 Physiotherapists. With my position having both clinical and management responsibilities, I have been able to remain connected to the clinical interface whilst developing a sound understanding of organisational wide needs and priorities through my management duties.
I have a passion for safety and quality and am responsible for reviewing all physiotherapy related incidents at Barwon Health (via Riskman). I generate monthly safety and quality reports for staff with the intent of identifying any trends or themes, followed by formulating risk mitigation strategies.
I also sit on several senior safety and quality related committees including the Significant Falls Committee and Comprehensive Care Committee. I am regularly involved in the review of incidents.

Summary of incident review experience
I have been a member of several RCA teams, investigating both deaths and other ISR 1 incidents related to falls. I have also had training in RCA processes.
The majority of my formal review experience, in which I have played a significant role, has been related to falls. I have performed numerous investigations into ISR 1 and 2 falls as part of my role on the Significant Falls Committee. This includes falls in the acute, sub-acute, residential aged care and community settings.
As part of everyday work, I have reviewed hundreds of incidents via the RIskman system. This includes areas such as falls, pressure injuries, staff injuries, behaviours of concern, clinical deterioration, hazard identification, skin tears and systems issues.
