We’re inviting individuals, health providers and organisations with expertise or lived experience in managing heavy menstrual bleeding to join us and help us understand how heavy menstrual bleeding is currently managed in Victorian health services, and how we can improve care.
There are two online interactive sessions and you’re invited to join one or both.
Current Management of Heavy Menstrual Bleeding Forum
Wednesday 13 July 3.30 pm-7.30 pm
This session aims to build an understanding of the current state of the management of heavy menstrual bleeding in Victoria. We’ll explore both consumer and clinician perspectives on the management of heavy menstrual bleeding in primary and tertiary healthcare services in Victoria, and discuss the gaps, barriers, opportunities and key factors that influence variation in assessment, diagnosis and treatment. Then we’ll define the opportunities to improve health outcomes and care for women with heavy menstrual bleeding.
Best Care for Heavy Menstrual Bleeding Expert Working Group
Thursday 21 July 3.30 pm-7.30 pm
In this session, we’ll work with consumers and clinicians to create a shared vision for the Best Care for Heavy Menstrual Bleeding initiative and develop a strategy to work toward achieving improved health systems, care, experiences and outcomes for women with heavy menstrual bleeding. This session will introduce participants to the improvement science methodology used in our improvement projects.
The forums will also explore the current understanding of the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care - Heavy Menstrual Bleeding Clinical Care Standard and ways to enhance awareness and implementation of the standard to help improve the quality and consistency of care.
RACGP CPD points accredited.
For registration enquiries, please contact Tess Uhi, Project Officer by emailing tess.uhi@safercare.vic.gov.au.
Not able to make the sessions?
We’d also like to hear from women who have experienced heavy periods about the care they received. Take the survey.
